The MARQuIS team welcomes all readers to this fifth issue of the MARQuIS newsletter. This newsletter usually is issued on a three months time interval. The MARQuIS newsletter provides a short overview of the main developments in the project with links to more information on the MARQuIS-website.

The MARQuIS consortium would like to once more express its gratitude towards the hospitals that completed the MARQuIS Questionnaire before the deadline of the 20th of August. More information....

Questionnaire survey: exciting first impression……

In the period April 4th – August 20th 2006 over 500 hospitals from 8 different countries logged in on the web-based MARQuIS questionnaire. The results show some interesting variance between the 8 countries, which will be further analysed. Some more results will be presented during a workshop on Monday morning the 23rd of October at the ISQua conference in London. More information…

MARQuIS workshop at ISQua Conference, 23 October 2006

The MARQuIS consortium will host a workshop at the upcoming 23rd ISQua Conference in London. The ISQua Conference is held from 22 to 25 October 2006. The workshop on the MARQuIS project will take place on the second day, in the morning of 23 October, and will highlight the results of the work packages finished so far. More information…

Second MARQuIS project conference for project partners

On 8 November 2006 the project partners of MARQuIS will meet in Prague during the second MARQuIS project conference. The partners will discuss the results obtained so far and the steps to be taken in the remainder of the project. More information…

Training for hospital visitors

On 9-10 November two persons from each of the 8 participating countries will participate in a two-day training to prepare them for the next phase in the project: the hospital visits. As a follow-up to the results of the MARQuIS Questionnaire a sample of the participating hospitals will be visited by these ‘hospital visitors’ to obtain more detailed information on the data provided in the Questionnaire. Publications since last Newsletter

Two reports have been published on the MARQuIS website since the last issue of this newsletter. The two publication both deal with quality improvement strategies in healthcare systems of the European Union and complete each other. The first one constitutes a literature review and the second one a survey among experts. More information…
