Progress after 1 year MARQuIS

Publications since last newsletter

The policy analysis of existing quality strategies in Europe, that constitutes the first part of the project, has been conducted. A report with its conclusions entitled ‘Health care quality strategies in Europe’ is being finalized. As soon as it is finished, it will be placed on the MARQuIS website. More information...

Analysis of cross-border care

The MARQuIS project performed a study on cross-border hospitalization during the first year. This study shows that cross-border hospitalization is still a low occurrence but growing phenomenon. Nevertheless the analysis provided some useful information on e.g. the type of care cross border patients seek and the shortcomings of healthcare information systems. More information…

Country Coordinators

Each of the eight participating countries in the MARQuIS project has a country coordinator. These country coordinators are responsible for monitoring the collection of responses from the participating hospitals in their country. More information…

Hospital Questionnaire

Based on the results of the research on existing quality strategies and on cross-border hospitalization, a questionnaire for a survey among hospitals is being constructed. The questionnaire will be piloted and translated into the local languages of the participating countries. Starting mid March 2006 hospitals recruited by the coordinators of the participating countries will fill in the questionnaire via the website. More information…

Participation of hospitals

The MARQuIS project aims to involve 600 hospitals of eight different EU countries in the questionnaire. These countries are Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Ireland, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Poland, and Spain. Hospitals from these countries interested to participate can contact the MARQuIS project.
